In short: Smoobu is software designed for holiday rentals whose strength is connecting with the portals: according to its website, it syncs listings and calendars with more than 100 platforms. Weko is not software that connects your property to the portals (what Smoobu calls a “Channel Manager”): it gives your property its own booking page by nights, exchanges calendars with the portals to avoid double bookings and handles the guest registration report (parte de viajeros) for SES.HOSPEDAJES, and it also works for restaurants and bars. If your business lives off selling through many portals at once, look at Smoobu; if you want to sell direct and have the property's paperwork in the same place, look at Weko.
Smoobu data checked on 16 Oct 2026 at smoobu.com/es/precios, smoobu.com/es/quienes-somos, its article on Check-in Scan and its article on SES.HOSPEDAJES and Chekin. We only compare what Smoobu publishes on its website; if anything has changed since that date, what its page says prevails. Smoobu is a trademark of its owner and has no relationship with Weko. (Quotes from Smoobu's Spanish-language website are our translation; plan names are given as they appear on that page.)
Before comparing: they do not do the same thing
Smoobu and Weko overlap on the bookings of a property, but they start from different places:
- What Smoobu mainly does. Connect your property to the holiday-rental portals. Its pricing page talks about “Channel Manager” and “Price synchronisation” and says that the listings and calendars of “more than 100 holiday rental platforms” can be connected and synced automatically. Weko does not send prices or listings to any portal.
- What Weko mainly does. Let people book directly on your own page, with no portal commission, and keep the property's paperwork in the same place: guest registration report, messages with the guest. Weko is also used in restaurants and bars, with supplier invoices, costing sheets (escandallos) and APPCC; Smoobu presents itself as software for the holiday sector.
- What both do. Booking calendar per unit, own booking page, management of several units and automatic notices to the guest. Here it does make sense to compare them, and that is what the table does.
That is why the price is not compared one to one either: Smoobu presents itself as software for holiday rentals and its fee depends on the units you manage.
The comparison at a glance

Price: what you pay with each
Smoobu publishes a price per unit. These are the figures from its table for one unit, in euros:
- Profesional Flex: €29/month and a 0.9% commission per booking.
- Profesional Prepago (the one it marks as “Most popular”): €35/month, or €31.50/month billed annually, with no commission per booking.
- Pro+: €55/month, or €49.50/month billed annually, with no commission per booking.
In addition, its page says it offers a 10% discount for annual payment and 20% if you commit for two years. Each additional unit costs €9.60/month and accounts with additional write access, €12/month; with more than 20 properties, it offers a custom rate. “We charge nothing for set-up or onboarding fees.” VAT, if applicable, is calculated and shown during payment, so the figures in the table do not include it. To cancel you have to give 30 days' notice, and on annual plans the cancellation only takes effect when the contract ends.
An inconsistency on its own page: the frequently asked question talks about “a single unit for just €28 a month on the Prepago plan”, but the table for that plan shows €35/month (€31.50 billed annually). Here we use the table.
Weko's price is read live from its pricing page, with the tax shown next to the figure: Check Weko's current price on its pricing page
To compare properly, put both amounts on the same basis, with VAT or without VAT. And do the sums with your own units: in Smoobu the fee grows with each one, whereas each Weko plan comes with a number of bookable units included.
Portals: here Smoobu plays in another league
It is the biggest difference, and it is better to say so bluntly. Smoobu states on its website that it achieved direct integrations with Booking.com in 2018 and with Airbnb in 2019. Its pricing page adds that, on all its plans, the listings and calendars of more than 100 platforms can be connected and synced automatically, and that price synchronisation is one of the plan's features.
Weko takes a more modest approach, and says so on the screen itself. In Reservas → Ajustes → Ajustes generales → Conexiones (Reservations → Settings → General settings → Connections) you exchange a calendar with each portal: they tell you which dates they have taken and you tell them yours. You can do it with Booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo, Holidu, Agoda, Rentalia, Escapada Rural, Tripadvisor or Google Calendar. The screen warns what it does and what it does not do: it blocks dates so that you do not get two bookings, but it does not bring in the guest's name or the amount. And each portal re-reads your calendar at its own pace, not instantly. You keep changing the prices, photos and description of your listing on each portal.
Direct bookings
Both have a page for the guest to book with you. Smoobu offers a booking engine with Stripe and PayPal, a website builder and a booking website. In Weko the guest chooses the unit and the check-in and check-out dates on a calendar where taken nights cannot be selected, and sees the price with the nights and the cleaning fee. Bookings come in through your page and Weko charges no commission per booking. You can offer flexible or non-refundable rates, with their free-cancellation period.
Guest registration report
It is the chore that takes the most time from many hosts in Spain, and the two solve it differently.
In Weko the Registro de viajeros (guest registration) section appears if your business is accommodation in Spain. You turn on reporting to the authorities, save your SES.HOSPEDAJES credentials once, and the guest receives a link to fill in their details before arriving. When the booking has them, you press “Reportar” (Report) and Weko sends the report. It has limits that are worth knowing: it sends only to SES.HOSPEDAJES, not to the Mossos or the Ertzaintza, and it does not collect the phone number, the email, the document support number, the town and country of residence or the payment details; you complete those yourself. We explain it step by step in the SES.HOSPEDAJES guide and in the list of mandatory data.
Smoobu handles it with integrated third-party tools. On its blog, an article from 27 September 2023 says that Chekin had already integrated SES.HOSPEDAJES, with online guest registration or by scanning the document, automatic report and sending; and another from 15 March 2024 presents Check-in Scan, which is bought separately: “From just €6.90 a month per accommodation unit”, with a discount for Smoobu customers. The list of features on its pricing page includes “Online check-in”; it does not detail whether that covers the guest registration report to the authorities, so ask them. Both articles are from 2023 and 2024: ask them how it works today and what it costs before deciding.
Guests, messages and other programs
Smoobu lists on its pricing page “Automatic communication”, “Guest management (CRM)”, customisable templates and “Guest Guide”, as well as iOS and Android apps. In Weko you have the customer list, an inbox with the conversations (messages and calls), public reviews and automatic notices for each booking by email and, if you connect your WhatsApp, also by WhatsApp. The phone and WhatsApp are answered by an artificial intelligence agent, and its calls and replies use credits from your plan.
To connect other programs, Smoobu talks about full access and more than 40 integrated providers, among them smart locks, online payments and cleaning. Weko gives you access keys and automatic notices when a booking is created, changed or cancelled. If you need a specific lock or cleaning service connected, check in Smoobu whether it is on its list.
Where Smoobu wins
There are things Smoobu does better, and it is worth saying so:
- Connection with the portals. “Channel Manager”, price synchronisation and “more than 100 holiday rental platforms” that can be connected, with direct integrations with Booking.com and Airbnb since 2018 and 2019. Weko only exchanges calendars.
- More connections with other services. It says it is integrated with “more than 40 providers in the holiday sector”, among them smart locks, online payment solutions and cleaning.
- More years and more guests in the sector. It was founded in 2014, joined HomeToGo in 2021 and presents itself as a partner of thousands of hosts in “more than 120 countries”.
- Low, clear entry price per unit. From €29/month for one unit, with no set-up fee, and with discounts for paying annually or for two years.
- iOS and Android apps and several payment methods. It lists this among its features, and its booking engine includes Stripe and PayPal.
- 14-day trial without a card. Its page says you can try the full Profesional plan with no payment details and no lock-in.
Where Weko fits better
- Direct bookings. Your own page by nights and with no Weko commission per booking, so that the returning guest books with you and not through a portal.
- Guest registration report in the same place. The guest fills in their details through a link and you send the report to SES.HOSPEDAJES from the booking, without switching programs.
- Phone and WhatsApp. An artificial intelligence agent answers your guests at any hour; its calls and replies use credits from your plan.
- If you also have a restaurant or a bar. Supplier invoices, costing sheets and APPCC live in the same program as the property's bookings.
What Weko does not do
So that you get no surprises, this is what Weko does not do today: it is not software that connects your property to the portals (what Smoobu calls a “Channel Manager”), it does not send prices or listings to the portals, it does not bring into its calendar the guest's name or the amount sold on a portal, it does not send the report to the Mossos or the Ertzaintza, it does not calculate or collect the tourist tax (we explain it in the tourist tax guide) and it does not process for you the single rental registration number (número de registro único de alquiler). It does have a field to store and display the tourist licence number on your public page.
How to choose: five questions
- What share of your bookings comes through portals and what share direct?
- Do you need prices and listings to update on their own on each portal, or is it enough that you do not get two bookings on the same night?
- How many units do you manage, and how much would you pay per month with them and with VAT added in both cases?
- Do you want to send the guest registration report to SES.HOSPEDAJES from the same program in which you manage your bookings?
- Do you also have a restaurant or a bar, or only accommodation?
With those answers, the table above tells you which fits your property better. This comparison is for information only and is based on what each company publishes on its website on the date indicated. If you are torn between several tools, also see the comparison Weko vs Avirato.
